About Antratsit

Antratsyt is a city in Luhansk oblast (province), eastern Ukraine. Incorporated in 1938, it is an anthracite-mining town, from which product it takes its name. It is a typical industrial centre on the Donets Coal Basin whose rise was due to the Soviet five-year plans for economic growth. Pop. (1991 est.) 73,000.
